Account Deletion

Delete your BuddyCheck account.

Delete your account immediately in the BuddyCheck app, or contact us here if you can no longer access the app.

Delete in the app

  1. Open BuddyCheck and go to Profile.
  2. Select the red Delete Account button below Sign Out.
  3. Review the warning, type DELETE, and confirm.

The account and its BuddyCheck-owned data are deleted immediately. There is no grace period, undo, or account-level restore.

Request deletion without the app

  1. Email buddycheck@sagebrush.church from the email tied to your BuddyCheck account.
  2. Use the subject line Delete my BuddyCheck account.
  3. Include your name and the account email if you are writing from a different address.

What we delete

After verification, we delete your BuddyCheck-owned account data, including profile details, habit activity, buddy relationships, devices, reminders, awards, authentication records, and in-app notifications tied to the account.

Limited records that may remain

Protected rotating backups may retain a copy for up to 7 days before automatic expiration. They are not an account-restore feature and cannot be used to bring back a deleted BuddyCheck account.

One-way hashed operational logs may remain for up to 30 days and one-way hashed security records for up to 180 days. A minimal email suppression record may be retained indefinitely, solely to honor an unsubscribe request. These records cannot recreate the account, and we do not keep deleted account data for unrelated marketing.

Pseudonymous public-website analytics are not stored as BuddyCheck account records and age out within 400 days. Daily website totals without visitor or session identifiers may remain for longer-term trend reporting.

Pseudonymous account-onboarding journey data may remain for up to 400 days so account deletion does not rewrite historical signup and conversion reporting. It does not contain your name or email. Non-identifying cohort totals may remain longer.

Incomplete registrations

If registration is never completed, an unverified record may be deleted after 30 days of inactivity and a verified record may be deleted after 90 days of inactivity. BuddyCheck sends a warning first. This cleanup does not apply to completed members or accounts containing BuddyCheck activity.

Email-request timing

In-app deletion is immediate. For an email request, we aim to respond within 7 business days. If we need more information to verify the account, we will ask before deleting it.
